Business Development Manager

We are seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our global team.

  • As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and developing relationships with new merchants and partners in the Forex Vertical. 
  • Actively track and pursue new merchants across Forex vertical (via utilizing own network, events participation, cold or organic outreach) to build the sales funnel.
  • You will work closely with the CCO, CSM and marketing teams to build a strong pipeline of qualified leads and develop strategies to grow the company’s customer base in the sector.
  • Perform mail campaigns, sales activities and outreach as prescribed and supervised by CCO
  • This is a hands-on sales/business development position reporting to CCO, so you will need to be a confident salesperson in the payment sector, with a successful track record in the sector selling payment solutions for E-commerce merchants.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop new business opportunities with merchants and new referral partnerships to increase Commercegates’ transaction volume and revenue, along with responsibility to retain and increase merchants’ satisfaction on the level service and business solutions provided;
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue objectives by selling payment processing services to new merchants;
  • Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with merchants, understand their business needs and provide solutions to improve their payment processing experience;
  • Educate merchants on the payment processing industry, industry trends, and the benefits of working with the CommerceGate;
  • Manage the sales pipeline and sales process from lead generation to close, including negotiating pricing and contracts;
  • Ensure CRM reporting is accurate and updated, to ensure accurate forecasting of opportunities are maintained;
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, including CSM, product, and risk management, to ensure the successful onboarding and ongoing servicing of merchants.

Personal objectives:

  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets;
  • Develop a deep understanding of the payment processing industry, trends, and CommerceGate’s competitive positioning;
  • Orchestrate the entire Sales process and act as the main point of contact for merchants and internal stakeholders;
  • Build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts to help drive new business opportunities.

Key KPIs that could be implemented:

  • Monthly transaction volume and new revenue generated from new and existing merchant relationships;
  • New merchant acquisition rate;
  • Merchant retention rate;
  • 100% accuracy of CRM
  • Sales pipeline velocity and conversion rates;
  • Average deal size and profitability.

Who You Are

  • Proven track record of success in sales within the Forex sector sales, preferably in the payment processing or financial services industry;
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with merchants at all levels;
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
  • Goal-oriented and results-driven with a passion for exceeding targets and driving revenue growth;
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to identify and address merchant pain points;
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions.
  • Ideally, you will already have your own network and potential merchants within the sector to target and understand the payment Ecosystem
  • You will have a wide scope to be able to create and target relevant companies/sectors and partnerships aligned with the company’s product set.
  • Selling to the C-Suite of Direct Merchant organizations and/or ISVs.

You’ll need to have:

  • Excellent analytical & presentation skills;
  • A proven track record in generating new business and in exceeding your sales targets;
  • 3+ years of relevant payments sales experience (PSP/Acquiring/Alternative Payment Methods);
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation skills and techniques;
  • Confident, intelligent, and motivated to develop within a high-pace, high-growth payments brand;
  • Native/Fluent in English and Russian (other languages beneficial) 
  • EU residence & Work Permit;
  • This is a full-time position with the ability to work 40 hours/week;
  • Some domestic and international travel is required.
